Kids Voting Ohio’s Exemplar Citizen Scholarship

About The Scholarships

Sponsored by the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, the Exemplar Citizen Award offers $500 scholarships to ten civically engaged graduating seniors involved in Kids Voting Ohio Programs.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants must be a graduating senior (Spring 2022) within the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio’s district which includes the following counties: Delaware, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Ross, and Union. The scholarship will go directly to the recipients College, University, Trade School, or other educational program. We understand that many students may not know what school/program they will be attending at this time. Scholarship applicants and recipients who did not initially provide this information can provide this information at any time after submitting their application until July 30, 2022.

Scholarship Opportunities

We are offering two Exemplar Citizen Scholarship opportunities at this time. One is focused on Merit and the other is focused on writing skill. Please view the scholarship rubrics to determine which application is best suited for you. Applicants can apply to for both, but are only eligible to receive one.

How to Apply

Complete the scholarship application and submit all components by February 1, 2022. We accept electronic versions submitted online or via email. We also accept mailed applications. If you need a printed version of the application please let us know and we will mail you a paper copy with a return envelope. Who is eligible for these scholarships?

Graduating seniors that attend a school participating in Kids Voting Ohio programs in the following Ohio counties: Delaware, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Ross, and Union.

Can I apply to both scholarships?

Yes, but you are only eligible to receive one.

Should the transcript be official or unofficial? 

We will accept either as long as they are current. Official transcripts can be sent to our office via email at scholarships@kidsvotingohio.org or by mail to Kids Voting Ohio | 250 E Wilson Bridge Rd. | Suite 150 | Worthington, OH 43085. Unofficial transcripts can be uploaded with your application or submitted by mail or email. 

What grading scale do you use?

A: 90 - 100  |  B: 80 - 89  |  C: 70 - 79  |  D: 65 - 69  |  E or F: Below 65
